ASU: Indigenous Colonization and Decolonization

Come join us for a lecture on
Indigenous Colonization and Decolonization

September 20th, 2009, Arizona State University
Discovery Building Room 150, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This educational lecture is to help our Peoples understand the tough experiences we have gone through during our history, and what we can do to make things better. We will see how and why the O’othham, or Indigenous Peoples, have lost the ability to decide what is best for our own Peoples. Come see how others began to control us and why we do not speak up or stand up for ourselves. We will look at how we can think in more positive and good ways. We will talk about how we can be happier, stronger, and how to make our Hemajkam (People, Nation) as strong as it once was.
The event is both a history lesson and a way for us to come together and begin to help one another do good things for our own selves and our own Peoples. Together we O’othham will begin to see that we can solve our problems. We will see that we can truly make our Nations better.
This is a presentation for all ages. This is a presentation for all O’othham and our supporters.
A potluck meal will be served for lunch, so please follow our tradition and bring your best dish to share with your relatives!
