Acá habrán opiniones encontradas, pero lo cierto es que este vestido de Givenchy no es nada más que una obra de arte y creo poquísimas mujeres podrían llevarlo de la forma en que cate Blanchet lo llevó.

Alta Costura pura y dura. A que sí?

Oscar 2011: Sexy y Elegante

Balance justo y preciso. Loved it.

Me mata de la pena no ver la espalda, trataré de encontrarla en internet y les cuento, ya?

Star Eyewitness of Queen's Abduction of Aboriginal Children Dies Suddenly

Star Eyewitness who named Queen of England in Abduction of Aboriginal Children Dies suddenly in Vancouver Hospital

A Special Report by Kevin D. Annett
March 1, 2011
William Combes, Eyewitness, 1952-2011
Photos: William Combes and Kamploops School 1934
VANCOUVER, Canada -- The aboriginal man who claimed to witness the abduction of ten fellow residential school children by the Queen of England and her husband in October, 1964 at the Catholic school in Kamloops, B.C. has died suddenly at the Catholic-run St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver.

William Combes, age 59 and in good health, was scheduled to be a primary witness at the opening session of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) on September 12 in London, England.

I last saw William ten days ago, on the eve of my departure for a European speaking tour, and he looked better than I had seen him in years.

According to his partner Mae, William was in stable health and was assigned a new doctor at St. Paul's Hospital this past week. William was then committed to the hospital for "tests", and his health began to immediately deteriorate. He died suddenly yesterday of a still-undisclosed cause.

The Vancouver Coroner's Office refuses to comment on William's death.

William was the sole survivor of a group of three aboriginal boys who claim to have witnessed the abduction of ten children during a royal visit to the Kamloops residential school in mid October, 1964, when both the Queen and Prince Philip were in Canada.

"They took away those ten kids and nobody ever saw them again" described William, in several public statements made over the airwaves of my former Vancouver Co-op radio program, and in the following signed and witnessed declaration made on February 3, 2010:

I am an Interior Salish spirit dancer and am 58 years old. I live in Vancouver, Canada.

I am a survivor of the Kamloops and Mission Indian residential schools, both run by the Roman Catholic church. I suffered terrible tortures there at the hands especially of Brother Murphy, who killed at least two children. I witnessed him throw a child off a three story balcony to her death. He put me on a rack and broke some of my bones, in the Kamloop school basement, after I tried running away.

I also saw him and another priest burying a child in the school orchard one night.

In October, 1964 when I was 12 years old, I was an inmate at the Kamloops school and we were visited by the Queen of England and Prince Phillip. I remember it was strange because they came by themselves, no big fanfare or nothing. But I recognized them and the school principal told us it was the Queen and we all got given new clothes and good food for the first time in months the day before she arrived.

The day the Queen got to the school, I was part of a group of kids that went on a picnic with her and her husband and some of the priests, down to a meadow near Dead Man’s Creek. I remember it was weird because we all had to bend down and kiss her foot, a white laced boot.

After awhile, I saw the Queen leave the picnic with ten children from the school, and those kids never returned. We never heard anything more about them and never met them again even when we were older. They were all from around there but they all vanished.

The group that disappeared was seven boys and three girls, in age from six to fourteen years old. They were all from the smart group in class. Two of the boys were brothers and they were Metis from Quesnel. Their last name was Arnuse or Arnold. I don’t remember the others, just an occasional first name like Cecilia and there was an Edward.

What happened was also witnessed by my friend George Adolph, who was 11 years old at the time and a student there too. But he's dead now.

I believe that William Combes died of foul play, and that his murder was arranged by those who stood to lose from his speaking out about his witnessing of the child abductions and other crimes of murder and torture at Catholic Indian residential schools.

I am writing a soon to be issued eulogy for my friend and fellow fighter, William Arnold Combes. Like another murdered front line native activist, Johnny Bingo Dawson, who was killed by the Vancouver police in 2009, William will never be forgotten - and those who killed him will, like the system that caused the death of so many children, be brought to real justice.

His murderers have not won. William's videotaped statements, including his witness of the 1964 abductions, have been registered in the archives of our ITCCS, and will be made public at our opening session on September 12, 2011.

I will be proposing to the ITCCS executive that William Combes and Johnny Dawson both be named post-humous Honorary Elders of the Tribunal.

In his name and memory, and for all the children.

Senate Indian Affairs Committee regarding John McCain's conduct in the Vietnam war and how it affects Indian Affairs. John McCain should be removed from the US Senate Committee on Indian Affairs for killing old men, women and children. John McCain is suppose to be helping Natives but has passed laws that are contrary to Indians. -- Vincent Yazzie

Dear Honorable Senators,

The attached documents came from the CIA website http://www.foia.cia.gov/search.asp
DOC_0000463502.PDF page 6 reveals only 2 bombs hitting a thermal power plant, but 35 civilian structures destroyed and 40 damaged.

John_McCain_captured.pdf page 1 reports John McCain and his friend dropped steel pellets, from "foreign correspondents in Hanoi saw with their eyes civilian dwelling houses destroyed and Hanoi's women, old folks, and children killed by steel-pellet bombs dropped from McCain's aircraft and those of his colleagues."

McCain Interview2.pdf on page 5 is a psychological point of view on John McCain by Dr Barral, "He showed himself to be intellectually alert during the interview. From a morale point of view he is not in traumatic shock. He is neither dejected nor depressed. He has able to be sarcastic, and even humorous, indicative of psychic equilibrium. From the moral and ideological point of view he showed us he is an insensitive individual without human depth, who does not show the slightest concern, who does not appear to have thought about the criminal acts he committed against a population from the almost absolute impunity of his airplane, and that nevertheless those people saved his life, fed him, and looked after his health, and he is now healthy and strong. I believe that he bombed densely populated places for sport. noted that he was hardened, that he spoke of ???? things as if he were at a cocktail party."

This man has no regard for human life. In his state alone the Navajo Hopi Land Dispute continues, tribes are losing their water rights, and over half the Navajo Nation now lives off the reservation. An acting congressional laws that are contrary to the Apache (Mount Graham Observatory), created congressional laws for Navajos to trade their lands rights for 75 year lease agreements. Page 23 of Healing v. Jones II, 210 F. Supp 125 says 300 unknown Navajos were settled on the 1882 Reservation and this case was confirmed by the US Supreme Court Jones v. Healing 83 S. Ct. 1559. The US Department of Interior has engaged in hiding important land records from the Healing v. Jones court a major violation of Rule 26 of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The US government had a duty to disclose, but failed. Healing v. Jones II, 210 F. Supp 125 says 300 unknown Navajos, but the land records show there are 834 Navajos and 3,500 Hopis.

ftp://www.keyahhozhonitours.com/ftp/pub/anonymous/murphynames.pdf
ftp://www.keyahhozhonitours.com/ftp/pub/anonymous/tahgah_tcocie.pdf

John McCain as in Vietnam takes sport in killing indigenous helpless old man, woman and children as well as in Vietnam. How many Navajos have been moved to foreign lands via relocation and lost their homes who now wander the land with no home. Where Navajos that roamed free in there land with their sheep now waste away in a small 10x10 foot room waiting for death as the only language they know is Navajos. This conduct is not tolerated by Native Americans and only brings up memories of the Massacre at Wounded Knee.

John McCain needs to step down from the Senate Indian Affairs Committee as well as being a Senator from the State of Arizona.

I am a member of the Navajo Tribe of Indians, 305,180 and over the age of 18. I have served in the US Navy.

Sincerely,
Vincent Yazzie

Como fazer um casamento chique e barato

VIDEO Long Walk 3 northern route into Pendleton, Oregon

The Long Walk 3 northern route has only eight runners and walkers, and needs more to join them to walk and run into Lapwai, Idaho, on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011. Contact coordinator Chris Francisco: 503-515-6239

Fifty Followers!

50. The Big Cincuenta. Or just a big "L" if we're dealing with Roman numerals...

Any way you represent it, I'm pleased to note that Rough and Rede reached another threshold last week when the "followers" odometer hit 50.

Is it possible to write about this without sounding egotistical?

I'd been stuck in the mid-40s for a long time but I noticed some movement shortly after the first of the year. Finally, last week, a new icon appeared, representing the musical interests of a high school classmate I connected with at our reunion last fall. JoElyn is a clarinetist, a lover of the outdoors and, much to my surprise and delight, a big-time baseball fan -- a rabid follower of the San Francisco Giants and no doubt still walking on air after their World Series win last fall.

Anyway, this seems a good time to express two thoughts:

1. I really appreciate the encouragement and friendship that come from writing this blog. I know that having 50 followers doesn't mean that everyone is reading regularly. Heck, I'm realistic to know there are probably several "one-and-dones" out there. So it means a lot to receive the feedback that comes from each and every comment you leave.

2. I have a hunch that some of you would get along really well with each other if I were to provide a virtual introduction. So I'm going to give myself permission to do just that -- while noting that it's already happened by itself in a couple of cases. Consider it a variation on the saying "Mi casa es tu casa." (My home is your home.) "Mis amigos son sus amigos." (My friends are your friends.)

Mohawk Nation News: Confederacy of Indigenous Arab Nations

CONFEDERACY OF INDIGENOUS ARAB NATIONS
By Mohawk Nation News
MNN. Feb. 24, 2011. If the Arab Indigenous nations can bring down the dictators, can they unite? Indigenous are united by blood to our families, clans, communities, nations and tribes. Our natural affiliation can’t be erased. Colonial relationships are artificial, changeable and will die out.

Are there similarities between us and the Arabs? Bankers crave the resources of the Indigenous people worldwide. They fear we may once again govern ourselves.

In Libya Gaddafi and his small tribe became the super band/tribal councils governing everything. The oil resource is the legacy of all the people. He placed his family in all the important positions. He was careful not to use excessive force against his people. His private paramilitary forces include foreign mercenaries to control and kill for him.

These traditional tribal affiliations could decide the outcome of current protests. Gadaffi’s crackdown prompted many to unite. Who, if anyone, those protesters are answering to is unknown. Indigenous people answer to themselves as the power is in the people. Divide and rule of Indigenous tribes is governed by outside power and money.

This strategy is familiar. When the French and English washed up on our shores, they immediately tried to figure out and take over our power structure. It was based on friendship and alliances between hundreds of Indigenous nations. We agreed to live peacefully. If one member deviated from the great peace, sanctions followed. There were no leaders, just the people.

The French approached the Algonquin and Huron. The English approached the Iroquois. Attempts to start fights between us failed. The holocaust followed.

As in the Middle East, imaginary borders were created to divide us. Some of our nations ended up in many colonial jurisdictions.

Our natural affiliations never disappeared. We all had the principles of peace and equality in common. We are the inherent caretakers of the land, above, on and below the earth. The size of the nation does not matter. Each has equal rights. Decision are made through consensus and the best interests of all.

Outsiders turned out to be dangerous. Colonists set up band and tribal council puppets. They gave them power, money and protection. The rest of the people were kept poor, hungry and angry. Today across Great Turtle Island colonial mini dictatorships try to run our communities.

When we protested an incursion onto our land in 1990 foreign troops were brought in to attack us. We remembered that our people cannot defect from who we are. They came from everywhere to defend us.

Indigenous ties are misunderstood. Colonists create structures and conflicts to divide us.

The Arab tribes have their own traditions in common that unite them.

We have the tree of the great peace that was planted so that its roots went in all directions. Anyone wanting peace can trace the roots to the tree and take shelter.

Two messengers, Dekanawida and Ayonwatha, went to all the Rotinshonni:onwe [Iroquois] nations to stop their conflicts and form a confederacy based on peace and friendship.

The Mohawks joined first. The Oneida, Seneca and Cayuga then joined. Later the Tuscarora joined. The Onondaga were under the control of the feared brutal Atothardo, who terrorized and killed his own people. He was depicted as having snakes coming out his head and with a crooked body.

Atotharho was eventually subdued. The snakes were combed out of his hair, songs were sung to him and the great peace was explained. Finally he agreed to join the confederacy and was appointed its chairman. He had been convinced there was a better way to work with the people. Rather than using fear, terror or obedience to control them, he mediated peace and was given respect.

The principles of the great peace are based on the natural world known by Indigenous people worldwide.

What would happen if natural Arab Indigenous affiliations formed the basis of a confederacy throughout the Middle East? The artificial borders created by outsiders would be erased. The Arab people may become united and more powerful in order to stop resource rape and murder. All of humanity would benefit.

After two flat tires on Friday, a donation of tires for the Navajo support vehicle helped them back on the road. Umatilla Indian Nation provided a warm welcome. Their base camp today, Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, will be Walla Walla, Wash., then Lapwai, Idaho.

Wikileaks cable releases in Peru once again revealed how the US Embassy targeted Indigenous activists in South America, and promoted copper and iron ore mining. During decades of struggle, Indigenous activists in Peru have fought hard against the mining companies and many have been assassinated. Wikileaks cables reveal how the US Ambassadors in Peru identified and targeted Indigenous activists throughout South America.
