'A New Arab Generation Finds Its Voice'

Sometimes you come across a piece of journalism that's so well done that you just point to it, get out of the way and hope others -- like you, dear reader -- will take 5, 10 or 15 minutes, whatever you can spare, to check it out.

Such is the case with this superb multimedia presentation by The New York Times. Metro dailies may be struggling mightily across the country, and even the storied Times has its financial challenges. But journalism like this is essential to our acquiring the knowledge and perspectives needed to understand our tumultuous times.

Here's the intro:

Escalating violence has tempered the regional euphoria that followed the youth-led revolutions in Tunisia and Egypt. And yet, young people will continue to play an important role in the Arab Spring. This month, The New York Times interviewed more than two dozen of them, from Morocco to the West Bank, to find out how they consider their moment in history and their generation's prospects for the future.

Take a moment to listen to these passionate young men and women in the middle of transformative change.
