"A Ride Back Home"

I may be tardy but I don't think it's ever too late to share when the subject is great music.

I was cruising through the eMusic site when I stumbled upon this excellent video, featuring that old reliable, John Mellencamp, teamed with Karen Fairchild, whom I'd never heard of but now know is part of the band Little Big Town.

Such a sweet melody. Mellencamp's voice is as gravelly/bluesy as ever, even on this mellow song produced by T-Bone Burnett, the same guy who masterminded "Raising Sand" with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

Love this song. And I plan to check out more of the CD it came from:"Live Death Love and Freedom," which the critics seem to agree is his best in a decade.
